Fire water is critical infrastructure

JUMBO BLOCK stores large volumes of fire water underground directly beneath traffic and operational areas – permanently available, protected and space-saving. The same construction can also retain contaminated fire-fighting water if required.

Storage

Large-volume fire-water storage

Fire-water stores can be integrated beneath roads, logistics areas or industrial plants. Fire-protection requirements are met without losing valuable surface area. The water is immediately available to the fire brigade and for operational emergency measures.

Unlike open basins, the full volume is preserved as a strategic reserve even after long heatwaves. A reliable fire-water supply reduces the risk of water shortage during fire fighting – a point that matters to authorities and insurers.

Withdrawal

Hydrants directly above the store

The system is designed for integrating heavy-duty hydrants and withdrawal points – even on walkable and trafficable decks above the modules. This shortens distances and response times in industrial parks and densely built-up areas.

  • Multiple use

The same water serves fire protection, process cooling and technical irrigation.

  • Scalable

The store grows with the plant and neighbourhood and adapts to rising requirements.

  • Monitored

With level sensors and the dashboard, the reserve can be verified at any time – important for critical facilities.

Retention

Retaining contaminated fire water

In a fire, fire-fighting water can pick up pollutants. A sealed underground retention space prevents it from entering sewers, soil or watercourses. With chemical-resistant SABA sealing systems, JUMBO BLOCK can also be designed for such applications; sizing and execution follow the applicable requirements in each case.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How large can a JUMBO BLOCK fire-water store be?

Each module provides 13.9 m³. By lining modules up, stores from a few hundred to several thousand cubic metres can be built.

Does water evaporate from the store?

Hardly. The store is closed by cover and wall plates; unlike open basins, the volume is preserved even during heatwaves.

Can hydrants be placed directly on the store?

Yes. Withdrawal points and heavy-duty hydrants can be integrated on the trafficable decks above the modules.
