Long-term protection for soil and water
Environmental protection starts with the material: durable mineral concrete, a working circular economy and seals that stay tight for decades.
Updated:

- 01
Material responsibility
Plastics in underground systems can fatigue under permanent earth loads and release substances into the environment. JUMBO BLOCK relies on solid high-performance concrete: dimensionally stable, chemically resistant and durable under load.
- 02
Materials and regional production
Production takes place in partner plants in Germany using mainly regional raw materials – which shortens transport routes. We continue to work on new binders and a protected hybrid concrete recipe to improve the resource balance.
- 03
Effect on the ecosystem
Stored rainwater becomes a reserve for dry periods; infiltration strengthens groundwater recharge. Buffered runoff peaks reduce erosion and the silting of watercourses, while irrigation and evaporation relieve the microclimate.
- 04
Circularity and durability
A service life of 80 to 120 years saves resources for generations and reduces reinvestment needs in civil engineering. The modules are fully recyclable and designed to be reused elsewhere.
05
Seals that stay tight
The adhesives and sealants were matched to the concrete modules together with SABA. They remain permanently elastic and watertight under traffic loads (LM1), prevent uncontrolled water losses and resist root penetration and influences from the soil.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is JUMBO BLOCK recyclable?
Yes. The modules are made of mineral concrete and are fully recyclable. They can also be dismantled and reused elsewhere.
Why concrete instead of plastic infiltration crates?
A mineral load-bearing body does not fatigue under permanent earth loads the way plastic can, releases no microplastics into the soil and is designed for a service life of 80–120 years. Plastics are used only where technically necessary, for example in sealants.
How does JUMBO BLOCK protect soil and water?
The system buffers runoff peaks, reduces erosion and the silting of watercourses, enables infiltration for groundwater recharge and can be combined with near-natural sedimentation and filter systems.
