Authorities Seminar in Oberhausen – Innovations for Municipal Infrastructure

On 19 February 2026, an interdisciplinary seminar for public authorities took place in Oberhausen, giving decision-makers and specialists in-depth insight into the future of water and infrastructure technology. The event made clear that modern solutions today must go far beyond pure function.

From smart control to asset preservation

The morning began with technical precision: AQUATO Umwelttechnologien GmbH presented the new K-Pilot 2.4 controller for small wastewater treatment plants. The new connectivity options and the intuitive menu navigation in particular attracted great interest.

Stefan Stolz of MC-Bauchemie led the transition to the building fabric, presenting innovative approaches to the refurbishment of concrete tanks – an essential topic for the long-term preservation of municipal facilities.

JUMBO BLOCK®: an answer to NIS-2 and liability questions

In the afternoon, Andreas Zanni (ZANNI GROUP) put stormwater retention in the spotlight. It quickly became clear that JUMBO BLOCK® has long been more than a retention tank. It is a strategic instrument for risk management under NIS-2 and the German KRITIS umbrella act:

  • Support with reporting obligations: real-time monitoring and alerts help detect relevant incidents early and meet the short reporting deadlines towards the German Federal Office for Information Security, BSI (early warning within 24 hours).
  • Making due diligence verifiable: tamper-proof logged operating data helps treasurers, managing directors and boards document their diligence in handling risks.
  • Robust documentation: in an emergency, seamless monitoring provides traceable evidence of how the installation was operated and monitored.

A practical conclusion

The day concluded with Reinhard Korfmann (Korfmann GmbH) and a well-founded report from maintenance practice. The subsequent panel discussion confirmed the trend: municipalities are increasingly looking for solutions that not only work technically but also give those responsible robust evidence.
