JUMBO BLOCK for Water, Climate and Digital Infrastructure

JUMBO BLOCK – an integrated overall system
JUMBO BLOCK is far more than a new civil-engineering system. It is a holistic infrastructure platform that combines physical structures, digital planning, intelligent operational monitoring and modern communication solutions into one continuous system.
At its centre is the JUMBO BLOCK module, protected by a registered protection right. It forms the physical basis of an infrastructure that stores rainwater, reduces water scarcity, prevents flooding, can absorb and distribute thermal energy and at the same time provides permanently accessible space for utility lines.
Around this structure, a fully digital platform has been created that connects planning, calculation, documentation, operation and communication.
The JUMBO BLOCK module
The JUMBO BLOCK module is a large-format, modular infrastructure component with a net storage volume of around 13.9 m³ per module.
The modules are installed beneath traffic areas, industrial plants, logistics centres, airports, car parks or public squares, where they form a practically unlimited, scalable underground storage system.
The system performs several tasks at once:
- retention of heavy rain
- long-term storage of rainwater
- provision of service water
- relief of public sewer networks
- flood protection
- adaptation to climate change
- cooling of urban spaces
- improvement of the microclimate
- absorption, storage and distribution of thermal energy
- permanently accessible infrastructure for utility lines and supply systems
- integration of sensors and digital monitoring
Thanks to its modular design, the system can be extended practically at will and adapted to a wide range of requirements.
The JUMBO BLOCK Engineering Suite
The JUMBO BLOCK Engineering Suite is the system's digital planning and development environment.
It accompanies projects from the first idea to the finished technical documentation.
All programs work on a common data basis – the digital structure model (DBM), also called the One Engineering Model (OEM).
As a result, all disciplines access identical project data and work together without media breaks.
The Engineering Suite includes, among others:
JUMBO BLOCK Hydro
Hydrological preliminary planning.
Calculation of rainfall events, retention volume, storage capacities and service-water use.
JUMBO BLOCK Plan
Geometric project planning.
Determination of the number of modules, areas, dimensions, components and material quantities.
JUMBO BLOCK Budget
Automatic cost estimate.
Calculation of material, transport and assembly costs including total project costs.
JUMBO BLOCK Static
Preliminary engineering design.
Structural design, load assumptions, verifications, material lists and technical documentation.
JUMBO BLOCK Temp
Thermal infrastructure balance.
Simulation of heat absorption, heat storage and temperature development within the infrastructure.
This makes it possible to assess, among other things,
- surface cooling,
- thermal storage,
- energy transport,
- cooling of traffic areas and
- the use of industrial waste heat
as early as the planning phase.
The One Engineering Model (OEM)
The digital structure model forms the central data basis of the entire Engineering Suite.
All programs read and write the same project data.
The result:
- no duplicate data entry,
- no contradictory information,
- no differing project versions.
The One Engineering Model ensures that everyone involved always works on the same data basis.
The JUMBO BLOCK Dashboard
While the Engineering Suite plans projects, the dashboard monitors subsequent operation.
It connects physical infrastructure with digital sensors.
Among other things, the dashboard can display:
- stored water volume
- fill levels
- temperature distributions
- sensor states
- installation status
- maintenance information
- operating data
- audit and evidence functions
This creates a digital infrastructure that connects planning and operation.
JUMBO BLOCK CHAT DIRECT
With JUMBO BLOCK CHAT DIRECT, the platform has been extended with a minimalist communication channel.
The basic idea is:
This system relays conversations. It does not manage messages.
The chat consistently follows the principle of data minimisation.
It works without
- user accounts,
- phone numbers,
- email addresses,
- databases,
- cookies,
- conversation histories.
Messages are end-to-end encrypted in the browser.
The server relays only encrypted data packets and does not know their content.
After successful delivery, the packets are deleted.
Digital communication therefore follows the same principles as the rest of the platform:
simplicity, transparency and minimal data generation.
The JUMBO BLOCK platform
All components are connected via a common platform.
It includes, among other things:
- Engineering Suite
- Dashboard
- documentation system
- videos
- technical publications
- scientific papers
- music
- demonstration game
- CHAT DIRECT
The platform serves not only project work but also knowledge transfer, training, presentation and communication.
A new form of infrastructure
For the first time, JUMBO BLOCK combines physical and digital infrastructure into one continuous overall system.
The structure forms the foundation.
The software plans.
The dashboard monitors.
The platform documents.
CHAT DIRECT enables data-minimal communication.
All components follow the same basic principles:
- simplicity
- transparency
- traceability
- data minimisation
- sustainability
- resilience
The result is far more than a single construction product.
JUMBO BLOCK is an integrated infrastructure platform for water, climate and digital technologies.
It brings together construction, engineering, digitalisation and sustainable infrastructure in one overall concept, providing a forward-looking answer to the challenges of climate change, water scarcity and the increasing digitalisation of critical infrastructure.
